Description

I'd not ridden on the road much of late, bad back in July and lack of time in August. So it was nice to get out on a medium ride and I decided to throw in the climb to le Vernay via the Col de MorĂȘtel but with a slight difference. I took an even more back road via the route de Berruer, this steep climb ends in 100 meters of gravel biking before rejoining the MorĂȘtel road. At MorĂȘtel I added on the Vernay climb which I'd last done on a mountain bike at least 15 years ago. It is a steep little climb, over 10% and finishes in a well surfaced gravel track that continues its climb to the Brame Farine at 1200 meters. I was pleased to ride back down to valley in the warm but breezy summer air.

Conditions

Dry, not too warm, medium NE wind.
