I wanted to climb the Madeleine Pass after Pauline Ferrand Prevot's victory yesterday, but via a different route, as this one has a section of gravel. I stopped to film along the way, which meant I arrived at the pass without being too tired. Descent in a headwind further down.
Quite cold for August. Headwind at the start, headwind at the end. That's the mountains for you. There were lots and lots of people on the roads. Even in Bonnevillard, where a kind of Catholic mass was being held, attracting lots of people in cars. The gravel section is no problem on a road bike with 25mm tires.
