Conditions have improved a lot at altitude over the last couple of weeks but there is still a lack of snow below 1500 meters. The Alps is split between the Savoies, which have picked up a lot of snow, 2 meters at 1800 meters in some areas, and the Isere and Southern Alps which are pretty dry with ski resorts shut or partially open.
Further snow is expected to low altitudes on Thursday continuing into Friday.
