Have you ever done a route where the snow conditions or slope means you have to boot pack a pitch. Only you didn't bother taking your bulky crampons? What follows is a hairy climb as you try and kick your toes in far enough into the hard snow to have enough of a platform to climb. Well here is a neat idea, the Tech Crampon 250.
It is basically a micro-crampon that slots into tech boot lugs. It is aimed at light ski mountaineering or ski touring uses. It is so light and small you can always keep a pair in the sack just in case. Cost is $115 to which you'll have to add about $20 postage if in Europe.
