BCA and Mammut/Snowpulse airbag recall

In case you haven't heard both BCA, Snowpulse and Mammut have recalls out for their airbags. In the case of BCA the recall affects Float airbags shipped from 2011 to 2013. For Mammut and Snowpulse it is all airbags from 2011 to 2013.

"BCA has received a limited number of warranty returns in which the retaining ring, or E-clip, on the trigger assembly has been removed or become dislodged from the trigger cable. The E-clip can inadvertently be removed or become dislodged in the process of connecting the trigger assembly to the compressed air cylinder. If this occurs, the airbag may not deploy properly when the trigger is pulled."

There is no recall on the Snowpulse site for the moment however the Swiss Bureau fédéral de la consommation (BFC) has issued the following statement.

"Controls have revealed that some airbags produced by Mammut and Snowpulse (which was acquired by Mammut) during 2011/12 and 2012/13 have an assembly defect between the trigger and Venturi valve which can lead to a loss of functionality during deployment, clients should check this connector and if a problem is noticed they should stop using the product and contact the customer services for a free repair. Details of how to check the connector can be found on the Mammut website".
