On the 17th April I was able to witness this fantastic avalanche in the ruisseau d'Andagne, between Bonneval-sur-Arc and Bessans in the Maurienne valley.
The film isn't great. I'm not that familiar with filming and I was a bit worried about the slide to be honest. Even if, where we were, we didn't risk much. It is still impressive.
They were clearing avalanches for security reasons. The day before there had been a number of purges, some had had crossed the road. Between 12h00 and 13h00 there was a purge every 10 minutes. The clearance is for the security of the road between Bessans and Bonneval and also for ski tourers who use the Bonneval 3000 lift and who cross those slopes to reach the Albaron by le col de la fourche.
