Vertical Climbed: 672 meters (2,205 feet)
Vertical Descended: 670 meters
Rating: 3
General Description
The climb is split into two sections. From the lake at Pettenasco to Pratolungo it is around 6% over 2.5km for 150 meters of climbing. This is followed by 6km of rolling terrain through Armeno gaining another 100 meters. Then the switchback climb to Coiromonte, 8% over 3km gaining a further 250 meters. As you reach Coiromonte take a final left hand hairpin to cycle over the top of the village for views over the hills. In the village there is a water tap and a hilltop church. The descent is on a wide, sweeping road with few difficulties with a short climb bakc to Armeno and the lake. Traffic is very light on the climb to Coiromonte. You'll see a few cars once off the lake but nothing major.
Ride Report
First ride of the 2019 Italian campaign. Got in to the hotel, changed and was out. First climb was a bit tough but got into my rythm on the Coiromonte hairpins although nearly a minute off last year's PB.
Pleasantly warm. Dry roads in generally good condition.
