Description

The ski resort of Gourette is situated in the Aspe-Ossau area of the Pyrénées Atlantique department in the Pyrénées region. The lift served area extends from 1400 metres to 2400 metres. There are 30 km of lift served runs.
2005 news
The ski domain underwent a major infrastructure upgrade in 2004 with investment totalling 18.3 million euros. Aging surface lifts have been replaced by a gondola in the Bezou sector, a high speed chair has been built at Plaa Ségouné and the new Anglas chair improving access to Pene Blanque.
65 snow canons have been installed bringing the total to 150. These are served by a new 70,000 cubic meter reservoir and cover a total of 40 hectares.
2006 news
The resort is focussing its marketing on new school skiing opening a boardercross zone which offers 400 meters of vertical. The snowpark covers 8 hectares and features a sound system.
History
Lying under the Pic du Midi d'Ossau Gourette is the birthplace of Pyrenean sking.

Nearest Airport(s): Pau-Pyrénées International (60 km - Ryanair flights)
Road: From Toulouse :take the autoroute A64 to exit 11 (Soumoulou) signposted to Pau take the Pau ring road (rocade - yellow signs) to Jurançon N134, Gan then D934 signposted to Laruns then D918 to Gourette. Rail: Gare de Pau (50 km) with daily bus service
