Ski Areas > Northern Alps > Vercors > Vercors East Couloirs
The east wall of the Vercors stretches from Chichilianne in the south to the Moucherotte in the north and in its central section offers an impressive number of enclosed couloirs and passes ranging from 3.2 to 5.2 in difficulty. Some of the routes, such as the rarely skied Goulot des Chaudieres, are not in condition every year, others can be skied from December to the start of April. Most of the routes start from a 1000 meter balcony running above the Drac valley. Good timing is necessary as the east faces catch the sun early although some of the more enclosed couloirs only see the sun for a short period during the morning.
The area is home to three ski areas.
