The Seven Summits Ski was designed for Dynafit pro-riders Olof Sunderstroem and Martin Letzter project to ski the tallest summits of the seven continents started in 2003 and completed in November 2006 with the successful completion of 4897 meter high Mount Vinson located in the Antarctic. The pair were pipped by a few weeks by American Kit desLauriers, still they have the consolation of being the first men, and Europeans, and Swedes to have completed the seven summits. Kit also used Dynafit gear.

Dynafit Se7en Summits

The Seven Summits ski features the name of each peak as part of the graphics. You can also see the wood core through a transluscent top sheet - something we also noticed with the Silvretta FR800?. Flagship of Dynafit's FreeTouring range, the ski is designed to cope with different terrain. The flat shovel and skinnier tail mean the ski is more tolerant. The Seven Summits has a slightly softer flex compared to the the Dynafit Mustagh Ata giving easier turn initiation under difficult conditions.

The ski features a lightweight Paulowania/beech core and titanal insert and a Quadrax glass fibre shell. The ski is light for its class, in 170cm a pair weighs in at 2840 grammes with a 78mm waist. It looks like a good compromise for ski touring in variable alpine conditions.
