New for the 05-06 season the Tacora is a telemark version of the Atomic Sweet Daddy and Atomic MX 15 touring ski. Named after the 5980 meter Tacora mountain in Chile it offers light weight with good floatation for backcountry conditions. The Magnesium cap adds strength for telemark binding mounting and torsional rigidity for all-mountain performance.

The Tacora shares the same waist size as the Sweet Daddy but the tip and tail are slightly smaller and both are softer. Atomic claim a 20 meter turn radius for both skis in 172cm but this doesn’t seem to make sense to us. As a result of the beefier Telemark modifications the Tacora weighs 3120 grammes in 172cm. About 200 grammes more per pair compared to the Sweet Daddy.
