Catex (Câble Aérien de transport d'explosifs) is a system of pylons, pulleys and wires that are frequently seen on the ridges of ski stations.

The artificier attaches a charge to the cable and then pulls the charge into position. This permits difficult to reach or dangerous areas to be clears of snow. The Cable system is prone to icing and presents a danger to helicopters in the resort.
