Despite an exhaustive search no trace has been found of a 28 year old Bulgarian skier missing since Monday on Mont Blanc. The skier was in a group of three who were descending towards the Grand Mulets in the Dôme area when the other skiers noticed he was missing.
After raising the alert the search continued all day on Tuesday and a number of seracs and crevasses were checked in the Grand Plateau sector at 4200 meters. A search with avalanche transceivers was also made. The search operation was suspended on Thursday due to poor weather conditions. Rescue services suspect that the man, known to be a good skier but with little high mountain experience, has fallen into a crevasses. Hopes have faded of finding the skier alive.
