there was about 30cm in Risoul at village level, 40cm at altitude.

Nada in the Northern Alps.

30cm in the Oisans if you are heading up to les Deux Alpes.

Another storm is blowing over the Alps, this time accompanied by some strong winds. It is still very warm with the snowline around 2600m today.

Here is the snow that fell on the Southern Alps on the 26/10/2012 that Rogier took advantage of

Snowline was around 2000m, down to 1100/1300 locally. There was 30-50cm at 2500m and 70cm on the summits.

The south is really getting pounded, here is a Trip report from the summit of la Veleta (3400m) from Hora da la Mora (Bowl of the Arabs). The Serra Nevada range is near Grenada in the south of Spain.

Great biking to be had here in the northern alps, a bit scary from a skiing point of view though.

Snowing at around 1800 meters this morning. No real depth yet.

Here is a look at the Grandes Rousses from a few days back.

Yes not much. I’d say around 10-15cm overnight (I did a tour of the various monitoring stations in the Northern French Alps) at 2000m with snow sitting on the ground down to 1700-1800m. There was more snow in the Mercantour area of the Southern Alps, this was due to a depression over the Mediterranean as opposed to an Atlantic weather system that brought snow to the Savoie region.

Zero Isotherm, having dropped to 1500m is now back above 2000m.
