Description

Faucigny is one of the ancient provinces of the Savoie and covers the valleys of the rivers Arve and Giffre. From the 11th to 13th century it operated as in independent and powerful state. The capital is Bonneville, founded in 1290 by Beatrix de Faucigny as a tax free zone (villefranche). The area was incorporated into the Savoie in 1355.

The Grand Massif ski domain is situated in the Northern Alps region. It includes the following ski resorts:
