Ice road skaters
Thib had warned me there was not much snow left but I had difficulty believing him as conditions had been good a few days ago.
The snow was reasonable good so decided to climb to Emeindras at the summit, or nearly, of the ski runs. Of course the descent was icy which meant it was not too reassuring on cross country skis.
Crust skiing on the Sagnes marshes
A tour of the Sagnes marches which I'd not done for some time and Thibaut had never been here. Unfortunately the runs were only partially open.
Le Sappey with Thib
Finally managed to hook up with Thibaut for a lunch ski. He's a fair bit quicker than me so put me under a bit of pressure.
First Sappey of 2019
It has been a long time coming but the nearest ski area to work (about a quarter of an hour drive) has finally opened and with good initial conditions.
Winter is back
Winter has made a brief comeback and today it was possible to ski from the base of the lifts of le Sappey on the Emeindras and Combe piste.
Les Sagnes, again
Practicing 1 and 2 skate around the Sagnes piste. Some sections of ice and visible soil but good skating. +5C at 13h00.
Round and round the Mulbery bush
It is amazing how much you can climb just going around the same circuit with its little false flats and rises. Generally good conditions although not much snow depth.Weather: Sunny, some cloud. +3C.
Chemin de Emeindras
Change of program from doing exercises around the Sagnes green run.
Les Sagnes Skating
Lunch training on the Green Sagnes piste of le Sappey. Better snow compared to Monday - a bit colder, in fact very cold and better preparation. The icy sections were retracked.
