Vertical Descended: 513 meters

Description

I had a time constraint this morning so was only free for a couple of hours. Le Sappey seemed like the better bet and it had been pisted yesterday. It didn't look too promising down at the drag lifts - icy and refrozen crud from someone who'd x-country skied late in the afternoon. Still it wasn't too bad skiing except for some icy sections on the climb and it was possible to ski without going into the red. The skis were hardly leaving a mark on the hard snow.

PRs at every level

Montee de l'Emeindras 6.4km/400m 46m37 (old PR 50m17 but on the trans-Chartreuse)

Bottom Section: 17m40 (18m12 just before Christmas)

Top Section: 32m00 (35m37 old PR in 2021)

I skied up towards the Crete de la Faita on the crust but this was very icy in places.

The descent was not so great. At Emeindras I had to do a dog leg on the crust as the direct ramp was refrozen crud, afterwards a mix of frozen tracks and fresh snow that was easy to ski with one or two very icy sections.

Conditions

Icy with tracks left yesterday afternoon when it was warm making it rough on the descent in places. Probably better mid morning. Pistes closed.
