Mountain Biking (12)
Singles and company
We'd not been through the rock garden on the single du Champ Bertin since it rained a couple of weeks back (too greasy) but today the approaches were dry which was a good sign.
Corbonne under the rain
With the end of the lockdown we decided to push out a little bit to this classic switchback descent. Unfortunately it started to rain, hard just as we were arriving.
We wanted to push right up the Manival valley to the cabin but due to lack of time stopped about 200 meters short. We returned via the main trail as it was damp.
We decided to cycle to the Climbing Rock to take the technical descent down. It is still pretty tricky for us but getting a bit better on the easier top section.
La Pérérée to Murianette trail
I wanted to explore la Pérérée to Murianette trail. It is a jeep track, about 2 meters wide.
Tour des Crets de Prabert
Starting from the hamlet of Lnagenet follow the road to Rouare, la Planta then after some zig-zags the roads flattens. Take a right hander to les Avons to finally reach the Col du Lauteret.
Tour of Mont Rachais
ClimbMont Rachais is a classic for the Grenoblois. I’ve done Mont-Jalla -> Bastille years ago but Mont Rachais means you descend from the very summit of the mountain behind the Bastille.
Pierre Champ Bertin
From the Reservoirs of the Fontaine Bonnet on the St Nazaire -> St Hilaire road follow the Chemin de la Communeaux unsurfaced road downhill for a couple of hundred meters.
No Name + Pierre Champ Bertin
No Name: From St Ismier climb to the Tour d'Arces (medieval watch tower) then take the Pierre Grosse trail. After the Pierre Grosse the "No Name" is on the left.
Torrent de Corbonne
Follow the Pierre Grosse trail. At the end of the 33 hairpins take the right fork rather than crossing the torrent on the left. After about 20 meters of descent cross the Corbonne stream.
