Pravouta Tour, Chartreuse, France
General DescriptionFrom one of the car-parks at the col (take care, thieves operating) head to the Col du Coq then take the trail north-west which climbs through woods before turning North East at 150
Orionde NW face
From the col de Mouilles follow the road (closed in the winter) towards the Pré Marcel.
Croix de l Alpe express
I'd wanted to drive up to the summer parking so only climb 400 meters but the road has been closed as they don't want drivers using it during the winter.
Dent without snow
Normally I would be skiing this route but in this start of winter, well it was more like spring, there was no snow below 1900m.
Dent de Crolles by the Pas de l Oeille
From the Col du Coq parking 150 meters before the col itself climb the path to the Col des Ayes then take a zig-zag path below the cliffs of the Dent de Crolles.
Raiders Lost on the Arch
Day of exploration for the Tot and I. We decided to have a look at the Pas de l'Arche. It was fairly easy to find and the small arch complex is interesting to visit. We didn't go to the cave.
Torrent de Corbonne
Follow the Pierre Grosse trail. At the end of the 33 hairpins take the right fork rather than crossing the torrent on the left. After about 20 meters of descent cross the Corbonne stream.
Little late afternoon tour to check out the Cascades d'Alloix. The route is easy to the first waterfall and gets progressively more difficult.
From the carpark climb (yellow markings, signposted Les Chemin d'Autrefois) climb to a hairpin and reservoirs on the Gorge road or descend through Montalieux to climb a path by the side of the Allo
Côteau de Crolles
This route is in the Chartreuse Regional Park behind the small town of Crolles about 20km north of Grenoble. It forms a dumbell.
