The Argelès-Gazost area is situated in the Pyrénées region at the meeting of the Gave de Pau and the Gave d'Azun. The valley is traversed by the route nationale 21 between Lourdes and Gavarnie. It can be reached from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques by the col du Soulor and the col d'Aubisque.
