Le Chapotet

Ski Areas > Northern Alps > Belledonne > Pays d'Allevard > Chapotet

The Chapotet is practicable from around the first snows of winter to late April. It is a good beginner tour and is ideal on snow shoes. Watch out for avalanches which can descend from the slopes of the Rognier towards the the sources du Gargoton and from the north-east facing slopes of the Grande Montagne d'Arvillard.

Being south-west facing the slopes can develop a sun crust in the winter in the days following fresh snowfall.
