Having suffered for years with the ancient Koflach two clip boot the Nordica's were a revelation.

The TR10 offer good support for feet and is a 3 buckles design, one with a micro adjustable setting. The power strap can be moved up and down by 15 millimetres. There is, of course, a walk/ski position plus canting. The principal downsides are:

  1. No thermoformable boot insert, this has to be purchased separately if required
  2. The portfolio style design of tongue makes getting feet in and out difficult, particularly if the boots have spent a night in a cold snow cave or refuge
  3. No Dynafit binding inserts

The inner boot is hard wearing and can be removed and used as a slipper in refuges (it has a thin plastic sole). The TR10 is around 55 Euros cheaper than the TR12 but has a less advanced inner boot and has Nordica's own rubber sole rather than a Vibram version.

The TR10 weighs 3600 grammes. At around 170 Euros it is the cheapest ski touring boot available although the single plastic shell is somewhat dated now. The shell fits a wider foot.

The TR10 is not listed in Nordica's 2006 catalogue although is still available in the shops.
