In late summer of 2006, Benedikt Boehm and Sebastian Haag, two of Dynafit's pro skiers reached the summit of Gasherbrum II, a 8035 meter peak in the Himalayas. They completed the climb in a day, alpine ski mountaineering style. For the attempt Dynastar designed a new type of ski to give optimum hold in various snow conditions and on the 50° slopes found on Gasherbrum. The ski has a hyperlight Paulownia wood core and uses sprung steel and a special Quadrax glass fibre mesh for torsional rigidity. The large sidecut gives great turn control and superb edging. The skis has "islamic" green graphics featuring a crescent moon and snow leopard. The skis use Dynafit's skin system.
