The 2007-8 Verdict gains 4mm width compared to the old model and the move to a Poplar wood core improves damping over the foam core version. High speed skiers will appreciate the extra damping, the old Verdicts were felt to be too noisy. On the snow turn radius is noticably longer compared to the Black Diamond KiloWatt, it is a less agile ski. They seem to fill a similar slot to the Black Diamond Zealots - a stable big mountain ski at home in deep, and possibly steep, conditions. The lighter 170cm model (3.7kg) may attract some tourers otherwise one for the slackcountry crowd.
