Black Diamond Zealot
Gear > Ski > Freeride > Black Diamond Zealot
With 110mm at the waist the Zealot is the fattest plank in Black Diamond's lineup. The ski is available in two lengths, 182cm and a limited edition big mountain 192cm. Aimed at skiers religious about shredding big-lines in deep powder. The Zealot puts Black Diamond on the bleeding edge of ski fashion.

The ski is a fairly heavy 4.2kg in 182cm (the most suitable touring size). Couple with a pair of Fritschi Freeride Plus or Marker Duke's this would take you to close to 7kg per pair; more if you factor in the super wide climbing skins. Apart from off-piste you are looking at sidecountry or short climbs for strong skiers. The ski is wood cored which helps damp the ski at speed and in difficult snow.
From a touring viewpoint the main problem with these wide skis with rounded spatulas is getting clips to fit and stay on the skis.

Reviews
- Very rigid, effective on steep slopes for jump or skidded turns but difficult in frozen crud or varied terrain. A ski for powerful and skillful riders who want to go fast in powder. - Ski Labo
