Avalanches by Slope Aspect

The last three slides have presented a statistical analysis of avalanches. However fatal avalanches do happen on 20-degree south facing slopes. A great deal depends on the time in the season and the snow pack. Statistics are useful to set limits in dangerous conditions but should always be treated with some caution.

Don’t become another statistic yourself.
