I took a Ve'lov bike up to the Laurent Bonnevay bus station then came back on the towpath first along the Canal de Jonage which joins the Rhone river at Feyssine. Lovely autumn day with all the colours. The towpath is more or less flat, with a more or less good surface of red clay. Ok on 150mm cross skates except for some very soft gravel under the road bridge at the Tete d'Or.
Route could be combined with the tour of the Grand Large to give a few more kms. Le Grand Large Lyon Cross Ski (pistehors.com)
Damp, muddy in one or two spots and some sandy surface around the park de Feyssine
