Six hunting dogs, trapped at 1800 meters altitude since Sunday on the Plateau de Sous Dine in the Haute-Savoie were rescued by helicopter today in an operation involving 4 members of the fire-mountain rescue service.
Informed of the dog’s whereabouts on Sunday the rescue services were unable to start operations due to the poor weather. The dramatic rescue took 5 hours in difficult conditions. The dogs seemed well after their adventure but were checked over by a vet. Given that mountain rescue is no longer free in much of France we hope that the dogs were properly insured.
