The Matrix is the latest ski touring boot from Scarpa, the respected Italian mountaineering equipment manufacturer. Perhaps better known for their competition boots, the Matrix is designed to respond to ski mountaineers demanding both uphill and downhill performance.
This sets it up against stiff competition in the form of the Garmont MegaRide. We’ve had a pair of Matrix on test this winter. We like to give equipment a fair workout and this is what we found after some 10,000 meters of climbing including a three-day tour.

Hi Andy,
Did you try to contact Scarpa directly for dealers?

David, many thanks for the review - hope it shows up in the U.S. soon…

Scarpa list dealers on their website, but apart from the Lakes and Scotland they’re S&R/ Ellis Brigham, neither of which stock the Matrix. I guess I’ll have to wait until I’m next in Snell Sports!

It seems like I was right to worry about the Scarpa Matrix build quality. After 40,000 meters my thermoinner liners have worn through in a couple of places and the boots are looking a bit shabby.
