Chamonix mayor, Michel Charlet, already indited for manslaughter for the Montroc avalanche faces the same charge for the Mont Blanc tunnel fire.
Charlet says that it is routine and part of the ongoing investigation and claims he told the relevant authorities of the risk of fire 6 months before the accident. The investigating judge, Franck Guesdon is overseeing both cases which will certainly make him familiar with Mr Charlet.
