A missing trainee high mountain guide has been found dead under an avalanche close to the crête de la Ratelle in the Parpaillon range in the Hautes-Alpes.
His girlfriend, Helene, had made a desperate appeal for information on the website http://camptocamp.org. Accustomed to travelling alone Philippe had left his home in the south of France without leaving precise details of his destination.
His van was found in a car park at Crévoux and the High Mountain Police began a major search in the Parpaillon. After analyzing phone records the police triangulated an SMS sent on the 12th February. Their attention then turned to a number of slab avalanches however the wind had covered any tracks. The rescue workers spotted some ski gear and finally the body of the missing guide was found at 16h00 in the vallon du Pellat at 2500 meters altitude buried under a meter of snow

cant believe the video clip, how awful is the attitude shown by phillippe’s so called rescuers. i hope they all end up in front of a judge. they treated phillippe like an animal if not worse. i for one would not want to be found by such an digusting bunch of criminals.
RIP phillippe, you will be remembered by many who knew you and many more who didn’t.
