It snowed down to 1200 meters on Saturday night so on Sunday afternoon I thought about heading up to Pravouta behind the house for a couple of turns. I didn’t set out ‘til 4.30pm but it was cold.

The road was covered from around 1250 meters but the snow had begun to melt.

The sun had decided to come out for the climb, there was a lot of snow on the suspended slopes. If these purged, like in February, it is a 400meter drop but the snow seemed ok although I passed very close to the cliffs where there is a kind of “vire”.

Looking back down to the road it looks very steep and some cloud had moved in.

In the pas de Oeille rocks were not far away requiring some care where you landed (remember those cliffs again)

The snow on the main face had begun to get a bit crusty in the evening cold but was still skiable.
