I see from Backcountry World there’s a new AT boot from Technica :

This seems to be becoming quite a crowded market segment now.

Crowded is good, given the different feet morphologies. The boot looks very natty and Technica should know what they are doing. I know a lot of skiers who will use nothing else… will the boots be in Technica Orange though?

Thanks for the info.

:D I was wondering about the orange as well. They’re going for that yuff look with those liners I think.

I see Garmont are rumoured to have a new boot called the Axon, an Endorphin with Dynafit inserts. Gossip’s been around for a while but seems to become public on Backcountryworld and TGR.

I see Garmont are rumoured to have a new boot called the Axon, an Endorphin with Dynafit inserts.

And also rumours of a Black Diamond Dynafit compatible boot for 2008 when the Scarpa/Garmont Dynafit license agreement expires. Maybe Colin Samuels can post something on this?

I think adding Dynafit compatibility makes sense even in freeride boots as the binding is somewhere you can actually get back a few pounds without too much compromise.

The Garmont Axon was shown at the 2007 ISPO in Munich and should be out this season.

When I initially read the “yuff” comment, I did’nt understand it...Then I looked closely at the liner cuff.
Did you mean yoof by any chance, or is this a technical term for AT Boots grin

Obviously difficult to make exact comparisons but it looks like the Agent AT is very similar to the Agent 80 freeskiing boot - which is quite a soft boot whereas the AT is supposed to be quite stiff. Obviously the cuff pivots for walking and it seems to have lost a buckle. I wonder if producing a lightweight boot without Dynafit compatibility makes marketing sense?
