Access to the summit of the Mont Blanc via the Couloir Gouter is strongly advised against at the moment due to the risk of rockfall. A climber was injured this week. With temperatures around 13C at the Aiguille du Midi and positive overnight temperatures at the Gouter Refuge melting permafrost has dislodged rocks the size of washing machines.

Just read a tweet, from the sumit of Mont Blanc, from the Guide, Rob Jarvis who reports good conditions on the three cols route up MB from the Cosmiques hut incl a plank on the Tacul over a crevasse!

This is of course the route that the fatal avalanche occurred on earlier in the season.

so from the Italian side is now the easiest ?

I agree Ken, I have even done it in decent, as part of a traverse. I originally typed three peaks, but the tweet actually said three cols so I changed it. I just checked again and it now says Trois Monts. Must be the thin air.
