I have just abandoned my factors as they are just too stiff for me and a little heavy. I do mainly day tours, I have a broad foot and prefer my boots a bit on the softer side. I would want dynafit inserts. I have downhill boots I am very happy with so I’m not looking for a do everything boot but would prefer to sacrifice a little weight for good downhill performance the skis will be 80+ but not super fat. Can anyone recommend a boot for me, preferably one that’s not coming out next year.

Thanks.

I have BD factors and my feet also fit Scarpa Maestrales which are lighter and less stiff.

I’m really enjoying my BD Primes; really light and decently stiff for a touring boot.

Hi

I also ski Factors and the BOA system failed and I am having a right faff trying to get fixed.  I just bought the Prime as well and skied them on and off piste for a day and really liked them for downhill performance.  Not pushed them uphill yet so cannot comment but a marked differene in weight

I ski the Scarpa F3 - but with the bellows it is a bit of a faff. A friend has just bought the Scarpa Maestrals which look like a really neat ski touring boot, he’s happy. As ever get the boot that fits your foot.

Can anyone post the flex of any of these boots?

BD Primes are supposed to have a flex index of 110. Certainly appreciably stiffer than my old Spirit 3s with a downhill tongue and spoilers.

The factors were rated at 130, I understand it’s an inexact science.

I’m in the market for a new pair of boots this season too, but I’m looking for an all mountain boot as opposed to a predominantly touring boot.

My search has narrowed on either Dynafit titans, Fischer vacuum ones or possibly BD factors. If the Titans suit my foot I’d say I’ll run with those.

What size are your feet if they are 10.5 then my little used factors are sitting in cham going cheap, cheap.

i ski the maestrale, awesome boot so light compared to a downhill boot but reasonably stiff, flex is 100. i used to ski some atomic race boots then technicas and i actually quite enjoy skiing something with a bit more flex. incredible on the way up too, i would say they are ideal for an all round boot!
