Swiss company AirAndSnow have developed a new superlight airbag which weight just 1600 grams complete with gas cannister. The airbag, trigger and cannister weighs just 980 grams. Could be the answer for anyone who finds current systems too heavy.

I spoke to the manufacturers two days ago, and they are still in the development stage. They hope to have the product ready for next winter. If it’s as good as it looks it will be a quantum leap forward for airbag technology. Fingers crossed…
