Technique Extreme (everyones favourite skiing pound store) in Chamonix has a pair of touring bindings for €119. They have no known brand but are in a cardboard box labelled Alpine Touring with a picture of some retro Salomon boots locked in.

I wonder if anybody has encountered these or similar bindings and what they are like as a first binding to ‘have a go with’ ?

Naturally I am cynical

Can you post a photo with your camera/phone (or email me to post). I love Technique Extreme, amazing that they even exist in Chamonix.

Sadly I couldn’t get back there to take a photo, but should anyone be there these bindings are upstairs under the counter by the climbing stuff.

I’ve just worked out that what I saw in Technique Extrème was a device, labelled “Alpine Marker”

I think it might be like a rando-clip to convert alpine bindings…

If so, are these devices any good (for €119)

I currently have Alpine kit but perhaps a rando-clip would give me the versatility without having to immediately invest in full rando kit.
