With snow on the road from 1250 meters and no snow plough, or snow tires I had to abandon my objective of the Bec Charvet and head up the Pravouta front side. Normally I would have prefered my Friday route as the west shoulder is much more skiable early in the season.
There were tracks on the Praire of the Dent du Crolles, not a bad choice.
Snow conditions were almost as good as the end of November last year when we skied the hill.
Even the forest down at 1400m was skiable which meant a return directly to the car by my secret short cut. Snow was heavy consolidated powder with a bit of a crust forming here and there.
Job done!
