Wed, 23 January 2019

Technical

Minimum altitude: 1,280 meters

Distance: 8.6 km

Slope Aspect: North

Vertical Climbed: 220 meters (722 feet)

Description

Skating in fresh powder seems to be a regular thing this January and it is character building to say the least. Still not enough snow at the lower and more convenient le Sappey slopes but it is coming!

Conditions

Around 5cm of fresh on the runs which fell since this AM. There is snow at valley level today and snow tires are needed from around 800 meters currently. There was a weather window between 11am and 1pm after it started to snow again (more or less in line with the forecast). Temperature -2C at the Col. Skating conditions were acceptable if not fast.
