Description

From the col de Mouilles follow the road (closed in the winter) towards the Pré Marcel. At the first junction take the left fork then 750 meters take a path to the right that climbs obliquely from the road. At 1350 meters altitude you cross a large trail and the path does a 180 degree loop before heading to the SE again. After a long, flat traverse a track leads back to the N.E, climbing. After 500 meters it joins another track, continue to the SE for another 500 meters to join the start of the Barlett Mountain ridge line at 1500 meters. Turn left to the SE then S, at 1700 meters exit the forest. The track climbs steeply under the west face of the Orionde; you may find it easier to put in a few kick turns. At 1800 meters turn to the N.E. to reach the Jarlons bothy (1890 m) then climb the NW slopes to the summit.

Comments on route: Risk of avalanche as you exit the forest from the west slopes of the Orionde
