Nordic Skiing: Emeindras - Combes

Tue, 19 January 2016

Technical

Distance: 15.4 km

Slope Aspect: South

Trip Reports

Vertical Climbed: 500 meters (1,641 feet)

Description

Emeindras - good slidy snow with a few bare patches that were relatively easy to avoid, snow got better as I climbed. The Combe blue had a few too many stones in one or two places which were difficult to avoid. Overall pretty good ski if you stick to the Emeindras climb but it needs another half meter of snow really. Oh and footprints on the Combe! St Eynard piste was open but snow cover didn't look great. All other runs closed. 55 minutes to cover the Plantibert climb: 370m+, 4.7km. Not exactly quick.

Weather: High clouds, about 2C at les Sappey.

Access: Dry

Country: France Area: Chartreuse Trailhead: Le Sappey
