Description

I'd heard conditions were very good at le Feclaz still on the trails and that the resort were preparing the trails up to the 12th April despite being officially closed. I arrived a bit before 11am, perhaps a bit late but the snow was excellent. I started on the SE side of the plateau at la Feclaz skating over to the St Francois via the Grand Teppe piste. The slopes are sheltered from the sun by the woods... further out on the plateau and there is no snow. The runs were fast, even in the spots that had caught the sun already. After St Francois I wheeled back round on the Bois Brule black to join the Petit Teppe up to le Revard, doing a loop on the Bois Brule. It was getting warm and the snow was becoming sticky and a bit slushy, time to head down via the Trois Croix back to le Feclas. Not quite 25k and not too much climbing. Excellent conditions for the time of year.

Route Taken: Bascially a tour of the area via the three access points.

Weather: Sunny 12C at 11am
