Description

From the hamlet of le Civet climb the route de Bois to les Massons then the reservoirs of St Ismier. From the reservoirs take the right fork towards the Col de Faita. At 550 meters (Cote Bonne) take a right turn just after the l'Arguit trail. After about 300 meters the trail turns left and starts climbing. After about 100 meters take a right and cross the l'Arguit stream then climb to a promitory. You should be able to cycle all the climb. From here take a small path marked by a red rock on the ground that follows the promitory to the east. After about 100 meters turn left into some fairly open woods keeping an eye for the path. The trail descends gently at first then turns directly down the hill in a series of turns. There is a small step (tree routes) at the start of the steeper section. You cross a wider trail at 520 meters, keep going straight (yellow cross on tree) to join the Chemin de la Pivolle. Turn left to rejoin the start.

Comments on route: Dries out reasonable quickly but the forest can be damp. L'Arguit river is dangerous during storms.

Access: Grenoble -> St Ismier -> les Marechaux -> le Civet

Equipment: Suitable for any MTB with good brakes.
