Midday conditions were totally different from the morning. The foehn had started and the snow was soup like in the sun but not too sticky and waterlogged in places. I'd thought of climbing to the Charmant Som but the conditions put me off, instead I did a couple of tours of the col de Porte, also testing my new Salomon S/Lab skate shoes.
Around 1pm. Very warm with a strongish wind from the south, snow was very humid in places, fairly skateable in the shade.
