With the Montbonnot school again. Today 2 hours on classic, they were a bit tired.
We started by skiing down taking alpine turns at the top with Leonie skiing on the "off piste" which was refrozen mank and challenging. We then took the steep red piste down to the stadium area, the idea being to challenge the learners. We practiced half snow ploughs to control speed. At the stadium the order of the day was pro-pul-sion. Getting the skis to grip. We did some tours of the stadium climbing the classic rails with diagonal stride trying to only be on one ski then skating the return. We then looked at double poling which the kids found very tiring.
We then set off up the steep climb, which seemed a big challenge, with herringbone at the end then back to the start which is a long climb which was tackled with reasonable enthusiasm. We tried some bumps here but the snow was a bit frozen for this to be comfortable before finishing with a larger bump where the idea was to ski a bit with the poles, double touch the ground then descend the bump and do a large turn on flatter ground.
Mild, +2C at the cold. Some ice on the tracks but generally good skiing although classic rails were icy. Snowstorm at midday with snow down to 1250 meters.
