Description

It was snowing in Grenoble at 7 o'clock with low cloud. I decided to change direction from Belledonne to Cornafion. Not much snow at first, when going down there was 10 cm of fresh. Very windy at the top and the first turns were on frozen snow. This quickly turn into 5-10cm of powder. Excellent in the forest and on the old ski slope.

We took the following route: Les Cochettes > les Platres > Roybon > we then climbed the West ridge. Despite the risk 2 the fresh snow and wind meant we were prudent about taking the Pissevache bowl (the normal route). We descended the same ridge then direct to the top of the old Cochettes pistes.

Conditions

Icy on the ridge lines, light powder lower down. Very windy.
