Swedish Avalanche Victim Found Alive
A Swedish woman was reported missing in the afternoon after an avalanche was set off by her group of 16 skiers above Valorcine in the Haute Savoie, has been found alive in the village this evening. The victim managed to ski down to the valley by herself. A search operation involving 60 rescuers was aborted after the discovery. The avalanche was around 200 by 300 meters and occurred at 1850 meters in the Tête des Posettes sector in the Mont Blanc range. Three of the 16 members of the group. who were with a guide, were caught. Two of the skiers were dug out immediately but there was no trace of the third.
