Dynafit Se7en Summit Ski and Vertical ST binding

A review of the Dynafit Se7en Summits Touring Ski. We spent a weekend on this ski, equipped with the Dynafit Vertical ST binding (and not another manufacturer as we say in the video!). The glacier up at les Deux Alpes provided some testing conditions of hard snow and ice and we really liked the ski.

It features the special attachment system for Dynafit skins but this is no bad thing as it is quite hard to find loops large enough for the widest freerando ski shovels. However we were also able to use our Black Diamond skis with their Topfix attachments. The skis are light, look great and have good hold on ice. We also liked the Vertical ST binding, the replacement for the Comfort. The ski brake worked as it should and we liked the reinforced ski crampon plate although Dynafit tells us that people have still managed to brake this piece although it takes a great deal of force. With the guide groves on the Dynafit boots the bindings are as easy to use as an alpine unit. The most challenging conditions were an ice river that formed on the glacier in the afternoon and the banks of ice crystals thrown up by the many Italian slalom racers.

Check Kohla skins if you are looking for wide looks… Actually they make kind of hooks instead of loops smile
