New ski mountaineering competition regulations will hit wallets

The new ski mountaineering competition regulations risk being expensive:-

Boots: vibram type sole over 100% of the boot bottom
Bindings: front release from 2013 - I believe most ski competitors use Tech like bindings but the heel only releases at a fixed DIN in the vertical plane so the toe cannot release except under large forces. Presumably this will require a spring loaded turntable like regular Tech bindings (Dynafit TLT etc).
Bindings: ski brakes from 2014 - hopefully we will see ski brakes that work, although there are already some solutions, such as brakes actuated by the forefoot a bit like we had in the 1970s.
