just got a last minute trip to Vaujany for next week and remember being told last year about the canyon de la fare. Does anyone have recent experience on the route and or can recomend a local (Vaujany based) guide?. I am also looking at the the combe du loup and is it possible to traverse down to the refuge de sarenne?

Hi Brian, this is a bit late. I don’t have any beta for the Fare. I’ve seen a couple of guys on Pistehors who are doing seasons in alp d’Huez.

I think the Fare is route F on this photo. I imagine it has enough snow at it has snowed a lot above 2000m.

I’ve been skiing already this season in France, some of the couloirs are still a bit dry but these seem to be onces with steep sections or pinch points where there is not enough snow to fill in the terrain but I think the Fare is not that steep and would also have been sheltered from the wind that has ripped across the Alps.

I’d be interested if you have any photos from your trip.

The Canyon has a big hole in the middle of it it needs a lot of snow to fill it in.

Thanks for the update, that is useful information at the Fare is not too visible although I guess the pisteurs would probably have some idea.
